Ted Gibbs
Speech Makers Director & Trainer
Over 20 years ago, I found myself in the position of President of the parent association at the local Primary School which my children attended. This summoned the beginning of a love of presenting and public speaking. The position required the making of numerous speeches and although I found this somewhat nerve wracking, I very much enjoyed the challenge.
In 2003, in order to improve my overall speaking abilities, I joined Toastmasters International, an organisation I continue to support and thoroughly recommend to everyone.
My love affair with public speaking has assisted me in reaching the top echelons of competitive speaking. Most of my speeches fall into the humorous category and creating laughter within an audience gives me considerable pleasure. I have spoken on behalf of the National Heart Foundation, worked with Lifeline and filled the Master of Ceremonies role at many functions. My latest ventures have been into stand up comedy, where I performed at the comedy club at Paddington and I have spent 8 months with a barber shop chorus.
My clients have included budding federal politicians, government departments, local government officers, high school student leaders, bridegrooms and best men. I have conducted many training sessions relating to leadership, conflict and team building, issues which confront many clubs, organisations and work places.
My own experiences have shown that gaining the confidence to stand in front of audience, be it just a few or hundreds, and to deliver a message which is clearly understood, accepted and acted upon is indeed life changing.
Best wishes,
